This eco-educational experience takes place at Faro Celarain Eco Park at 5:00 p.m. You will be able to watch how baby turtles emerge from their nests and go out to the ocean.
A nationwide festival celebrating Mexican Independence Day. On September 15 local residents and visitors congregate around the City Hall to participate in the traditional “grito,” or cry for independence. Led by the Mayor of Cozumel from the balcony at City Hall, the cry “Viva Mexico” is made. Following the “grito” is an impressive fireworks display and other festivities including traditional foods as well as musical and folkloric dance performances.

Cozumel, a small island off of the Eastern coast of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, is a popular destination for tourists year round. Visitors from all over the world flock to the beautiful beaches, amazing snorkeling, and relaxing atmosphere.
The one-loop, 1.2-mile swim takes place off the coast of Cozumel in the Caribbean Sea. Following the swim, athletes will embark on the 56-mile bike course from the Chankanaab Park parking lot (T1) and finish at T2 next to Cozumel’s City Hall in the heart of downtown.
The 13.1-mile run course is all flat and paved and passes many of Cozumel’s signature sites, including its waterfront walk, downtown main plaza and historic neighborhoods.

This small island off of the east coast of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula is a popular destination for tourists and IRONMAN athletes alike.
Cozumel plays host to the Ford IRONMAN Cozumel event every November. Athletes start off their day at the Chankanaab Park in the Cozumel Reef National Park. The swim takes place in the pristine waters of the Caribbean Ocean, before cyclists take on the two-loop course through the southern part of the island on flat, paved roads. Finally, participants challenge themselves over the flat and fast scenic run course that runs parallel to the Caribbean Ocean.
There are 50 qualifying slots for the IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua-Kona, HI.
